Tim Bobbitt

Hi! I am Tim Bobbitt and I will be one of the mentoring coordinators this year! We have SO many amazing, fun and creative ideas that we PROMISE will help everyone from a complete newbie to a triathlete who is trying to go longer distances.

A little bit about my personal life: I am a firefighter/paramedic and have an unique sense of humor. I have two kids that I adore more than life itself. I am a DJ (two turntables and a microphone)

A little bit about my triathlon life: I have completed over 100 triathlons. I have done every distance and completed 5 half Ironmans and 4 Ironmans. I am not a fast triathlete at all.

Now onto some random questions:

What is your favorite race? I have two, well actually three: Ironman Muncie, Alligator Creek, and Ironman Louisville

What is the most challenging moment you’ve had during a race? When my bike seat fell off and I did not have the proper tools to fix it. I had to walk my bike6 miles to get it fixed.

What is the one piece of tri-geek gear that you can’t live without? Garmin 910xt, TYR triathlon bag, Swimfinis mp3 player… That was suppose to be only one but I am cheating a little.

Tip for new (and veteran) triathletes? You will chafe. Get used to it.
