Amy Ochoa

I am entering my fourth year of this crazy triathlon world. I love to travel and go on adventures which is one of the reasons I love triathlon. But the support and camaraderie of the wonderful people in this club is what really ignited my passion for this fantastic sport. I served the club my first full year as the Social Coordinator and this past year as Member at Large on the Board. I work in Marketing and Advertising in my professional life and I believe I bring a fresh perspective to helping our club grow and flourish.  I promise to bring my energy and positivity to the role of VP and make our monthly meetings fun, educational and entertaining.

My first triathlon was in July 2012 at the South County YMCA.

My most challenging moment was the swim during Steelhead 70.3 last summer. A unwelcomed panic attack hit within 5 minutes of the start of the race, so to overcome, I completed the entire swim doing backstroke.

My advice for new triathletes – don’t be afraid to ask questions, you have a club full of wonderful people willing to help!
