Group Training

Thursday morning group run: This run has been going for about 5 years now! Meet us in the Forest Park visitor’s center parking lot and be ready to run at 5:50am. The group does one loop of 6.6 miles, with options to go shorter or longer. The pace varies and the group sometimes splits into pace groups. This is a no-drop run, so don’t worry about being left behind. It’s dark at start time, so lights and reflective gear are recommended.  Scroll down to see individual event occurrences.

Sunday morning swims: The Club has reserved the use of the Whispering Hills club house pool (12545 Markaire, St Louis) on Sundays from 8-10am. The pool will be open every Sunday with a few exceptions for holidays and other events. We will occasionally host a challenge or coached swim, but will leave a lane open for those who have their own plan. You can do your own swim or join the Mentoring Program’s swim, which you can learn more about on the Mentoring page.  Scroll down to see individual event occurrences.

Monday morning bike ride at Tower Grove Park:  This is a nice 10-15 mile workout on the quiet roads of Tower Grove Park. There are very few cars and there is new pavement this year! This event is hosted by Club members TracyJo Pasieka and Bob Ericson.  The group meets in the traffic circle near the Piper Palm House and Composers Pavilion. The ride consists of a 5-mile pattern in the park, riders can do more or less based on their goals. This can be a fast-paced ride or not so fast, and riders can always do their own pace too. Wheels down at 6am.  Ride schedule is May thru September (except June 4th). Send any questions to TracyJo at

Tuesday morning Sunrise Speedwork: This is a BYOB track session (as in, BYO Battleplan) at the SLU track at the corner of Compton and Rutger, behind the SLU medical campus. A workout will be available that you can follow or modify or you can bring your own workout to share. Even though the group may run different paces or distances, there is still a group feel of running “together” and it’s motivating to run with friends.  This event is hosted by Club member TracyJo Pasieka and the group meets at 6am for a short warm-up and then usually runs about 45-50 mins. You can show up early, show up later, show up for a few minutes and leave — it’s all up to you. The track is quiet and sometimes has other runners and walkers. Best of all, the track is on a hill so the group can watch the sunrise over downtown. A great reward for getting up early!  Speedwork schedule is May thru September. Send any questions to TracyJo at

IronBrick Tuesday night Creve Coeur Park Bricks: Join Coach Paul Schon of IronBrick Coaching for Tuesday night bricks from Creve Coeur Park starting at 6pm. The group will meet at the Sailboat Cove parking lot of Creve Coeur Park near the boathouse.  Routes vary in distance but will typically be in the range of 20-30 miles. Optional brick runs after the ride.  Scroll down to see individual event occurrences.

Thursday night bike ride from Forest Park: Club sponsored “no drop” group ride every Thursday night leaving from the east side of the Forest Park Visitors Center parking lot at 6:00 pm.  Groups and routes will vary depending on who is in attendance. Scroll down to see individual event occurrences.
