The tri club is hosting a Winter swim series at Whispering Hills Clubhouse (12545 Markaire Dr, St Louis, MO 63146)
December schedule is set and we expect to do a January schedule as well.
Sunday, December 7th – TriSmart
Jennifer Meyer of TriSmart Training Systems will lead the Sunday morning swim on 12/7. Pool opens at 8am and clinic will start on the deck by the pool at 8:15am and end in the water about 9:15am.
– How do you warmup before the swim in a triathlon? We will review and practice how to properly warm up for a triathlon – open water or pool.
– Once in the pool we will practice/learn how to do great open turns. Effective open turns are important for your practice and for pool triathlons if you aren’t planning to use flip turns. A good open turn can be very fast and effective.
Sunday, December 14th – Evolve Coaching
Most triathletes only spend the summer months working on Open Water skills; however, this is not doing the off-season justice – there’s no need to wait for warm weather to work on skills that are needed for swimming without the blue line. Join Evolve Coaching Systems’ coaches Samantha Murphy and Nicole Kretzer to work on how to turn a pool workout into an Open Water simulation. We will go over several drills, work on some potential OWS situations and talk about how to incorporate OWS techniques into your workouts.
Sunday, December 21 – IronBrick Coaching
Paul Schon from IronBrick coaching services will cover various swim starts and race tactics as well as run the participants through a swim workout.
