Mentoring: New Town open water swim and group rides

Date(s) - 05/07/2016
8:00 am - 12:00 pm

New Town Civic Circle

The Mentoring crew will be available the first 4 swims at New Town (April 30, May 7, May 14, and May 21) to help with wet suit and open water swim questions. April 30th is a special Wetsuits 101 clinic during the swim, but we’ll be there as available on the other dates to help out as we can. Look for the Club tent or flag on the grassy area near the swim start/finish.

Follow this link for more information and pre-registration for the OWS through Big Shark.

Following the swims we’ll host a mentoring-paced ride. This will be a no-drop, learning ride open to anybody but focused on the new cyclist. We’ll discuss road cycling, group ride etiquette, bike gear, racing, nutrition, whatever comes up! The distance will vary depending on group experience and goals.

And depending on interest, we could lead a short brick run too!

All Club members are encouraged to join these Mentoring events, even if just a few minutes during the swim or at the start of the ride. If you are an experienced swimmer or cyclist, your knowledge is valuable to a new triathlete and we’d love to have you share it. Remember, we were all new to this at one time!
