We will be competing in two six-week cycles starting on December 5th. Compete against your friends, keep your fitness (and shape) during the off season, help your club compete in the National Club Challenge Competition, and achieve total victory! Become a hero to your friends or a friend to your heroes. All of your wildest dreams can come true!
Just submit the registration form and take your first step down the path to Awesomeville!

Complete totals can be found here-

Registration form-

The rules and guidelines:
—All numbers are self-reported—we are using the Honesty Policy!!
—Spin classes count towards your goal, just make an educated guess as to your distance
—For injured members, elliptical miles and pool jogging count towards your goal
—Races count as well
—If you win in the first cycle, you can participate in but not win the same prize in the second
—Post your results to the email address dedicated to the challenge (IcyIron@gmail.com). The week will end on Sunday at 10pm, so have your results in by then
—No rollover between cycles. The numbers reset to zero for the second cycle

The prizes:
Gift certificates can be chosen from Big Shark or Big River Running
--First to complete the distance: $20 gift certificate
--Most swim miles, most bike miles, and most run miles: $20 gift certificate for each sport (but each member can only win at one distance per cycle)
--For all participants who complete their selected distance: $10 gift certificate

The rationale:
The winter months are usually the slow period for triathletes. The cold weather drives us indoors and most of us are taking a break. But we don’t need to pack up the tri gear just because of a few snowflakes! It’s still good to get out, work on drills and techniques, and keep moving. All you need to do is submit your numbers, and you’re in the Challenge!

Looking forward to seeing those totals rack up again this year. With so many clubbers heading to Coeur d'Alane this year, there will be intense competition over the cold season.

317 reads of this post. I know some are people reading more than once, but even then should have a good turn out this year. I was going to throw out a personal challenge to see if anyone could beat my numbers this year, but with my knee I am not so sure I will have that great of numbers the first time around. Maybe the 2nd though....

We should add a third discipline to the challenge that takes into account forum points!

Jeff, you want to track that too, right?!?!

Elena - I guess you are. Never could figure out how those get tallied. Jason - you should throw out a swimming challenge. That wouldn't affect your knees.

Here is something else you can do while tracking your mileage:
Sarah Haskins invites triathletes to track their numbers and donate to charity - http://www.sarahhaskins.com/2011/11/25/december-giving-every-mile-a-meaning/
