APRIL 2012: Club Picnic moves from July to April 29th. More details to follow. We will again be having our annual family potluck at CCP's (http://www.stlouisco.com/ParksandRecreation/ParkPages/CreveCoeur) beautiful CorporateSite #1, only this year we are having it earlier so that we won't all risk heat exhaustion. Of course it's been 90 in March already, so who knows what we'll get! -Tri Club provides main dish (burgers/dogs/meat alternative) and beverages -Members bring a dish to share -Significant others and children welcome (there is a playground near our site) -There is a shelter in case of rain -Activities will include sand volleyball, softball (we have everything but gloves, so if some people could bring gloves it would be great), and horseshoes -We will once again have the Beer Mile, so get to training! -New this year will be an energy snack cookoff!!! Bring your homemade energy bars, smoothies, etc. and copies of the recipe, and we will have an esteemed panel of judges sample your goodies and select a winner!!!
Please RSVP by April 20, 2012 by emailing Angela at social@stlouistriclub.com with questions or ideas. Hope to see you there!
MARCH 2012: I-rish Winter Was Over! Saturday March 17th at 10am While you are waiting for the cold weather to pass so you can really start hitting your training hard, join us for a spectacular celebration amidst a sea of green following the St. Patrick's Day 5 mile race. While the Dubliner won't "technically" hold a room for us, they are expecting us to arrive and congregate near the upstairs bar, so whoever arrives first should stake a claim up there. Patrick is even throwing in $4 - 20oz. pints of Guinness from 10-11am for anyone who shows up wearing a race bib (UPSTAIRS BAR ONLY).
Angie Barbini will order appetizers when she arrives which will be covered by the Tri Club. Members are responsible for their drinks and any other food they choose to order. The bar will accept cash or you can put down plastic to start a tab.
FEBRUARY 2012: I Heart Triathlon

Street Brewery (721 N. 2nd, St. Louis) on Sunday February 12 from 11am -

located this social within walking distance of the start/finish of Big
Shark's Run for the Chocolate 5K for those who wish to run this fun race.
This also marks your first chance to earn Spirit Points in 2012:
1. Attendance at the social = 1 Point
2. Attendance at the social wearing Tri Club Gear = 2 Points
3. Attendance at the social wearing Tri Club Gear AND a Run for the Chocolate bib = 3 Points
Just sign in with Angie Barbini at Morgan Street Brewery to earn your points.
Doing the run but can't make the social? Remember you can earn a
Spirit Point for each race you do wearing Tri Club gear. All you have
to do is send a photo of yourself in Tri Club gear with your bib # or
showing some other race element to Angie at social@stlouistriclub.com . Get creative! You just may earn a bonus Spirit Point for sending something crazy spirited!!
Whether or not you run, we hope to see you at Morgan Street! Please RSVP by Thursday February 9 NOVEMBER 2011 Friday November 18th, 7 to about 11pm at the Whispering Hills Club House (12545 Markaire Dr, St Louis). It is hard to believe that 2011 is nearing its end. It has been a year of great victories, not just for the Cardinals but also for each of you. Every race has been a victory, but even more than that, every time you've donned a swim cap, laced up your running shoes, or hopped on your bike it has been a personal achievement. Whether you've enjoyed a podium spot, set a new PR, or just overcame the temptation of sitting on your couch, you've made the most of this year. Please join us in celebrating the end of a great season full of pushing ourselves to our limits. Your family is welcome to attend. Please reply to the E-vite that came to your email.
We will have food, drinks, the Club Challenge awards, raffle prizes, and more. We'll also be announcing the 2012 Club Board of Directors.
OCTOBER 2011 Sunday October 4th, noon-4pm. Join us for a scary good time at race #5 of the Bubba Cyclocross Racing Series (there is also a cross country run at the course this day)!
Whether you are settling into "off season" mode (aka allowing yourself to indulge in the guilty pleasures you've been denying yourself all summer) and want to just watch, or you are desparately seeking motivation to keep that killer 6-pack you are sporting (rather than drinking) and choose to ride or run the course, it is sure to be a ghoulishly great time.
We'll have the Tri Club tent set up and will have some snacks and tasty beverages. All you need to bring is a chair, your cowbell, and your gear if you want to race. See the following link for more info on the race or directions to the park:
http://bigshark.com/articles/2011-big-sharks-bubba-memorial-cyclocross-series-pg757.htm
Finally, to make things a little more interesting, we'll have a costume competition! Just check in with Angie Barbini at the tent between 2 and 4pm to show off your costume and enter the contest. You will receive a spirit point just for participating, and the winner will receive bragging rights and some sort of cheesy prize.
Spirit points also awarded if you check in with Angie wearing Tri Club gear. (Represent the Tri Club AND wear a costume and you get double points!!!)
