Mentoring

The mentoring program is specifically designed to help new triathletes learn about the sport and prepare for their first race. The program relies on the sharing of knowledge between those with more experience and those who are still learning. Because we are always learning, finding new races, and forever challenging ourselves, that means that at any time you are both more and less experienced that others in the group. So we invite and encourage EVERYONE to attend the events to share and learn from each other.

Mentoring in 2016 has already started with a series of clinics and now the weekly Thursday night rides. Please see below for detailed schedule. Stay tuned for updates or cancellations. All Thursday night rides/clinics will start at 6pm to give people time to get off work and allow traffic time.

Most importantly…have FUN, no…have a BLAST!

Group A: defined as the “faster, longer” group and allows opportunities for newbies to join when gaining confidence from riding. Guidance will be provided for all levels. Rides are typically out and back, or other routes decided by Group Training committee and leader.

Group B: defined as “mentoring, newbie” group starting off on the roads for a slower, shorter course. Routes will start in the Forest Park Visitor’s Center parking lot. Mentoring sessions will occur before or after the ride depending on the nature of the session or the amount of daylight that is available. Group B will be focused on bike etiquette/safety/traffic laws with a Mentoring coordinator leading most of the sessions.
