The second session is scheduled for Saturday July 30th at 9am. Same info, meetup, etc. If you missed this clinic the first time, now is your change to get some great hill tips from Paul!

Join IronBrick Training Coach Paul Schon for a group ride clinic that focuses on climbing and descending hills on the bike. Meet in Babler Park near the monument near the visitor’s center (see map) and be ready to ride at 9am.

Babler Park is known for it’s wonderful hills on good park roads and few cars. You’ll get experience on short and fast hills, long and slow climbs, and get a taste of how a false flat feels. Paul will show you how to use your gears effectively, how to smartly approach and top a hill, and how to be confident on those fast-flying descents.

As many of you know, I love me a big hill! But I’m a bit backwards in that I’d much rather go up a tough hill than go down it. My descending skills needed a lot of work when I started riding due to lack of technique and confidence. I credit Paul for teaching me how to climb and descend while training for the happily-hilly Ironman Wisconsin in 2010, so I’m excited that he’s presenting this clinic!

This clinic is open to all riding abilities, but if you really new to biking riding please discuss this with Paul so he can assess your readiness and make sure you are armed with the needed knowledge before riding out. Hills can make for a tough workout, but because the park forms a series of loops you can ride as much or as  little as you like.

As a bonus, Julie Christy will be available after the hills clinic to do a stretching clinic.
